Process conditions of PC/ABS alloy
Drying treatment: Drying treatment before processing is necessary. The humidity should be less than 0.04%, and it is recommended to dry at 90-110 ℃ for 2-4 hours. Melting temperature: 230~300 ℃. Mold temperature: 50-100 ℃. Injection pressure: depends on the plastic part. Injection speed: as high as possible.
Advantages of PC/ABS alloy
Compared with PC, PC/ABS alloy has the following advantages: 1、 Under widespread usage conditions, it will only exhibit plastic failure, reduce residual stress, and improve stress cracking resistance. At room temperature, its impact strength is 3-4 times that of PC. 2、 Excellent boiling water resistance, after treatment at 100 ℃ for 240 hours, the tensile strength and bending strength remain almost unchanged, and the tensile strength is more than three times that of PC treated under the same conditions. 3、 Good aging resistance, after treatment at 120 ℃ and 140 hours, its impact strength is still more than twice that of PC. 4、 Excellent weather resistance, exposed outdoors for 2 years, with almost no change in tensile and bending strength, and an impact strength more than 4 times that of PC. 5、 The melt viscosity is reduced by 1/3, so the molding temperature can be lower, molding is easier, residual stress is reduced, and the product color is also better. In addition, the melt viscosity of the blend decreases significantly with increasing molding pressure, which also improves the formability.
Basic information on PC/ABS alloys
PC and ABS have a certain degree of compatibility, but the compatibility between PC and ABS is greatly influenced by factors such as the model, ratio, and processing technology of the two components. The most effective method to improve interface compatibility is to add compatibilizers to the blend system. Common compatibilizers include maleic anhydride MAH grafted POE, ABS grafted, PE grafted, polystyrene maleic anhydride grafted copolymer (SMA), acrylic acid or methacrylate copolymer, amine group, SAN, two-component compatibilizer, etc.
What is PC/ABS alloy
PC/ABS alloy can combine the excellent properties of both. On the one hand, it improves the heat resistance and tensile strength of ABS, and on the other hand, it reduces the viscosity of PC melt, improves processing performance, and reduces the sensitivity of internal stress and impact strength of products to product thickness
